Ms S's Secret Garden
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Windsor and Maidenhead.

Sheila went to help Ms S with her tiny courtyard garden, which she describes as her secret garden. It is set behind a high wall, so it's not very evident apart from the huge rose growing out the top! She doesn't like to do the garden on her own due to poor mental health, but loves to work in it alongside others. I have been to help a few times now and we have become good friends. My task was to cut back the large rose and cut off the dead branches. Then it was on to the hydrangeas, which needed cutting back to allow Ms S to hang up her washing. We saved the flower heads so she can have them as a display. Meanwhile Ms S planted up some bargain basement plants that she had recently bought After a welcome cup of tea, during which I showed her some of my holiday snaps, we started weeding the containers in the courtyard and throwing out some old plastic pots. Before we knew it, it was nearly time to go so I gave the area a good sweep and we got rid of the waste in the bins. Ms S was pleased with how much we had a achieved together.
