Owl be there for you...hooting around the garden
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Wandsworth.
- Sunday, 15th of April 2018
Rosie and Helen were warmly welcomed by Mr A to his sheltered residential home. A quick introduction and tour of all their facilities - we were tempted to hang around for the film night or residents dinner!!
Mr A proudly spoke about the residents vegetable patch he coordinates and took us over to his garden which needed some tidying after the winter - working around the owls figurines in the garden to collect leaves, prune bushes and dig out those unwanted weeds!
Chatting away Mr A was excited to have us lend a helping hand as his recent health challenges have restricted the gardening work he’s been able to do. We chatted birds, roses, pear and cherry trees, walks, family, his cats and more - the 90 minutes flew by. A quick drink to quench our thirst before we said farewell.
