Pull Another One!
6 GoodGymers made their way to help the Hilsea Lido in Portsmouth.
- Saturday, 19th of September 2020
- Led by Rachel Cutler
Six Goodgymers started the weekend off with our regular good deed helping to keep the Lido looking lovely while they are on an enforced break this year.
Keen bean Nick was there early to claim the prize task of cleaning the pool. After a couple of hours he was looking pretty green, thanks to both a coating of slime and the smell.. Well done Nick!
Val got back to her favourite task, painting, transforming the rusty door frames. Make sure you approach her carefully while absorbed in her task and up a ladder though.. sorry Val!
Angela, Louisa, Lynn and Rachel got stuck into the weeding, pulling out some real 'big ones'. This turned into a bit of an urban wildlife exploration, finding interesting insects, an evil looking beetle, informally named the Hil-ido beetle by Val, and identifying the plants with the help of our in-house experts/ enthusiasts :-)
There has been great progress on the landscaping at the rear of the site by volunteers throughout the summer- check out the pics!
We are back for more next week :-) https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/lockdown-at-the-lido-4
