Sanding and staining in the sun
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Cardiff.
- Saturday, 13th of April 2019
Nathan and Nic headed to meet Mrs R on a gloriously sunny Saturday morning. Today's task was to stain the swinging bench, which was covered in moss following the wet winter, and to paint the newly installed garden fence.
The first step was to protect Mrs R's fish from the imminent clouds of dust, and the runners were pleased to hear that the recently named Beast ( read: https://www.goodgym.org/reports/leaf-this-to-us-broom-broom-and-off-we-go ) was doing well. Having covered them over, they set about sanding down the bench, staining it a lovely teak colour and then moving on to tackle the garden fence.
Three hours flew by as the two covered all manner of topics - Nathan even admitted that he missed DRN and was hoping he'd come back soon. Nic suggested he might struggle to adjust back in the UK - jumping off Blackweir bridge wouldn't quite compare to his recent antics.
Mrs R was delighted with the work and looks forward to getting out to enjoy the garden in the impending sunny snap, listening to the birds, appreciating her flowers and fending off the cats who like to taunt Beauty, Beast and Boss.
