Skirting around the silence

14 runners on a Monday night, with one mission, to do good! However tonight there was a twist, we were to do good.......in silence.
Tonight we ran to ETNA , a community centre that hosts a wide range of activities for all ages, 7 days a week. From fitness, exercise and well-being sessions, to regular classes, workshops and one-off events. As the ectoplasm descended and created an eerie mist over the Thames, and the unholy howls of pedigree vampire Labradodoodles struck dread into the hearts of East Twickenham villagers.
Once at ETNA we met Sian and the challenge was revealed - we were to tackle the dust and dirt that had gathered on the skirting boards, stairs and doors of the centre , however we were to do it all in silence as the centre was busy with lots of activity - Thai Chi, a support group and meditation. It was a hard mission to accept but help was at hand in the guise of a hearty band of red T-shirted hero's - Who you're gonna call?
Dust Busters
So we found ourselves practicing our sign language and whispering skills as we passed the J cloths, spray and buckets to make the place sparkle. Some might say we were.....
Dusting the Stairway to Heaven? ( with apologies to Led Zep)
A great job was done by all, and as we jogged back we caught up on all the natter we had missed out on during the task and just in case there was anything left to talk about we headed to the pub to celebrate smashing our January Challenge target with 120 Good Deeds done! Thank you Kate for the amazing cake to mark the occasion and we even had some bubbles (thanks to Salwa for the lovely gesture) to say well done to all and cheers to many GG runners birthdays.
Welcome to Andy tonight from Hounslow, great to see you again and thank you to Imogen for backmarking.
