Social visit to Ms.J
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Windsor and Maidenhead.
- Sunday, 6th of August 2023
This was my first social visit. I traveled to Maidenhead by train and walked 30 minutes to reach Ms.J's house. Ms.J lost her mobility and couldn't walk as much as she used to. Ms.J loves Tigers and I could see quite a lot of tigers throughout the house.
15 minutes later Ms.J's elder brother and soon after her son, both of them who live nearby came to harvest some beans and potatoes from Ms.J's garden.
Ms.J was a volunteer herself when she was working
We conversed multiple topics and time went by quickly. Ms.J asked me if I wanted a cup of tea before leaving. I nodded yes and to save herself the trouble, I made a cup for myself from the kitchen.
Ms.J has a very good memory and recollected many memories from her past. I suggested she write an autobiography to which she replied that one of her friends said the same in the past. After 90+ minutes of relaxed conversation, I completed my first social visit and walked back to the station under a drizzle.

Well done on your first social visit Mahdan! 👏👏👏 That was a long journey, I hope you've enjoyed it. And Sunny, the budgie, was he well behaved?... Sometimes he wants to join in the conversation too 🦜
Madhan... Sorry about the misspelling, the spelling corrector kept on changing my typing 😩
Great work on your first social visist!
@Georgeta - Sunny needed attention once in a while, but he was listening to us patiently most of the time. Ms.J sushed him once or twice.
Congratulations on your first social visit Madhan! And well done for your tourism too - we love it when people come out to Maidenhead :-) x
