Taking teamwork to the next level
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Lewisham.
- Saturday, 20th of June 2020
Mrs M answered the door looking confused and alarmed. "What are you doing here?" she asked. "Mmmmhfmgh" I replied. Eh? Once I'd taken my mask off and explained we were there to move her furniture, she didn't look any more pleased. "But you're two girls!" After a little discussion about how strong we felt, she remained unconvinced, but let us in to have a try. The task was to bring back down 2 armchairs and a dining table from upstairs which had been moved when her hostpital bed was being installed in the sitting room. We apprehensively approached the first chair and....phew! It wasn't light, but it was definitely manageable if we worked together. After a little shuffling to get it through the door, and with my glasses steaming up with every masked breath, we proceeded to carry it downstairs and into the sitting room to Mrs M's astonishment. This was quickly followed by the second chair and table, and a cabinet was taken back upstairs. Furniture arrangement was tweaked so that Mrs M could still move around the room with her frame and all was spick and span in 20 minutes. Mrs M was still singing our praises with amazement as we took our leave to let her enjoy her garden in the sunshine.

Are those Trebor because you're extra strong? I like it! (and it does infuriate me when people think you can't do anything physical cos you're a "girl")
Fabulous stuff both!
