Talking rubbish at Markeaton Park
3 GoodGymers made their way 5.0km to help their local community in Derby.
- Thursday, 16th of September 2021
- Led by Rachel Carthy
Tracey and Gwyn joined Rachel for a litter picking session in the sunshine at Markeaton Park.
Two varied loops round the park meant we clocked up 5km although each of our watches had a slight variation on the total distance....
We managed to fill two bin bags, made friends with a few dogs on their evening walks, found the discarded clothing of someone who had chosen to cool down in the lake and even rehomed a painted rock for someone else to find amongst the flowers.
Tracey and Gwyn told me about some of the events they've taken part in or helped at recently and their plans for a 'K' parkrun on their travels which is one of the more harder courses to find if you're a parkrun tourist!
