The Sound of Tokens Falling
5 GoodGymers made their way to help the parkrun - Pitshanger junior parkrun in Ealing.
- Sunday, 19th of November 2023
- Led by Sevan
On an unexpectedly warm November morning (see Steph's and Kash's t-shirts?), five GoodGymers topped up the numbers of Pitshanger junior volunteers to support the event for 51 young runners. One of them was a very special one - the youngest GoodGymer ever, known for wearing GoodGym red when he was a baby! It was revealed it was the son of Michelle!
Today Rohan and Steph were on the marshal duty, while the rest of the GoodGym crew secured the funnel, with Sevan recording the runners' time, Harvey distributing the finish tokens and Kash scanning them.
The end of the session struck us with a mystery of two missing finish tokens. Rohan solved the case of number 49 which was hiding in the leaves under the scanners' table. Token 39 remained lost and the volunteers had a suspicion one of the first timers didn't know that he was supposed to return it.
Before heading off we all stopped at the coffee shop in the park to enjoy caffeinated beverages and the sun to boost our Sundays. We will be back to Pitshanger the very next week, so don't miss that community mission!
