The War of the Roses
6 GoodGymers made their way to help the Richmond Council in Richmond.

So the super six congregated (socially distanced of course) at six pm sharp at the Whitton Social Centre to help the garden flourish for their lovely users. The garden is a fantastic space for the day care centre but was in much need of attention and hard work…. Not to fear Goodgym are here.
We paired up to take on various tasks in the garden. Swala and T focused on giving the roses a much needed post lockdown haircut which turned into more of a Sweeny Todd situation – the roses finally admitted defeat and the rose beds looked much healthier when we left. Adam and Naomi tidied up the flower beds outside the luncheon room for the users to view, including some expert shaping of the lavender shrubs – added bonus of a lavender exfoliation and essential oil treatment for free. Monika and Rebecca tackled the raised flowed beds, weeding and turning soil along with cutting back the runaway blackberry vines which were not berry nice to us.
Amazing what six people can achieve in a short space of time with great team effort and a can do attitude. The Whitton Social Centre were delighted with the amazing work everyone did as it will now be easier and safer for users to access and move about the garden. It was our pleasure to make a difference.
