Tomato Catch-up
4 GoodGymers made their way to help the Maidenhead Community Allotment in Windsor and Maidenhead.
- Thursday, 1st of September 2022
- Led by Windsor and Maidenhead runner
It was our weekly visit to the community allotment, and we had a bountiful number of GoodGymers attending. Anita and Rachael got straight to work at the water butts, with Anita demonstrating her double watering can technique. Nicola and Sheila, armed with secateurs, set to pruning the tomato plants , trimming off any flowers which will not have time to develop into fruit by the end of the summer, and removing any leaves which were shielding the tomatoes from ripening in the sun. We made sure the water butts were all full before we left. Special thanks to Nicola for the inspired report title!
