Weed in the pot
3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Wandsworth.
- Saturday, 19th of August 2017
On a bright sunny Saturday morning, three goodgymers visited Battersea to garden for Mr E. He was a great character and occasionally wandered out to crack some jokes such as suggesting the rainwater in one of his pots was as a result of a runner being caught short, and requesting kisses from all on our departure. But it wasn't all chatting and quips, there was a job to do! The garden had become overgrown with weeds and a number of creatures had taken up residence, which put off Mr E from using his garden owing to a fear of spiders. We set to work clearing all the weeds from the paving stones, plant pots and gravel bed, and even had time to brush moss from the decking and clip back a neighbour's intrusive tree. 90 minutes and 6 bin bags later we were done, just as the sun went in and the drops of rain started. So with a cheery wave goodbye we departed with the satisfaction of a job well done.
