This was our last Jewellery Quarter Cemetery task, before the dark nights roll in!
3 GGers' helped out with Josie in removing some stakes from trees, along with the wood around the trees. It wasn't an easy task, with plenty of muscles recruited to remove some of the nails.
There were a lot of new trees planted in Warstone Lane Cemetery between 2020 and 2021. Some of them are now so big that the tree supports were rubbing the bark and needed to be removed to protect the trees which are big enough to withstand the wind without them now.
Also sadly 3 of the trees died after being planted so those supports weren't needed either. We packed up all the spare tree supports so they can be reused for new apple trees which have been planted in Lodge Hill Cemetery and need more protection before the winter!
we managed to load all the stakes into Josie's car, so it was a good job done.
Although it was listed as a run, Jonny biked too and from the session and Veronika and Miriam got some steps in via a walk and also certainly got a bit of a strength workout.

The GoodGym Bunch turned up bright and early to Stirchley Baths on a drizzly Saturday morning to help set up for the Autumn Stirchley Community Market! Amy and Veronika expertly put up the gazebo with Sofeen and Laura’s help - good thing we practised a few weeks before!
Christina helped put out the decorations around the baths and then we all gave some old tables a scrub so they could be re-sold to a new home!
Big thank you to the GoodGym crew - we couldn’t have done it without you!

With a community mission in town cancelled owing to rain the Stirchley crew headed down to the pub to assist Amy in relabelling leaflets for the market. There was a misprint and instead of throwing them away we would just cover the mistake with stickers!
Rich was straight on it with his technique of getting all the stickers on the tips of his fingers while the rest of the crew put them on.
As if this wasn't enough there was also a pub quiz happening which we of course entered as "Sticky Situation" as our team name.
The results? We came 5th in the quiz and corrected 717 leaflets! Ready for us to deliver later in the year
