Dots and Spots

Friday 12th September

Written by Derby runner

Gwyn and Tracey were delighted to return to Mrs A's to see what she had been up to in her garden.

She'd transformed the areas that we had previously helped with, and they are now beautifully covered with decorative stones and matching plants. The next job in line was painting the fence, but we decided to go one step further, and painted dots on Gwyn's trousers and Tracey's sleeve as well!

There were a few spots of rain, but not enough to spoil our work, and we were generously rewarded with some delicious sweeties. Yum - thank you, Mrs A.

At length

Friday 12th September

Written by Gwyn Williams

It was a later start than usual for the cricketers who had to contend with a full car park. Tracey and Gwyn set about helping with the various cricket activities, focusing on length then length and line. We had lovely chats with the players and families then had tea with them.

Friday 29th August

Written by Gwyn Williams

It was cold in the hall when Tracey and Gwyn met Alex for DCF's Parkinson's Cricket group. We opened the doors to let the warm outside air in. Cue the rascals batting balls out of the hall. The bunting didn't put them off. We finished with very welcome teas and coffees.

Damson in Distress

Monday 25th August

Written by Derby runner

Mr C needed a bit of help with trimming and pruning in his garden. He has a damson tree that had produced a fine crop, and there were a lot of branches overgrowing from a neighbour's garden. Gwyn and Tracey set to work and filled two bins and two bags with cuttings, clearing a way towards making the garden more accessible.

Musicless Chairs

Monday 4th August

Written by Derby runner

Gwyn and Tracey joined their chums at the DCF’s Monday Mates session, getting there early to set up the chairs. We were in a different building to our usual one, so Gwyn gave directions in the car park, while Tracey took the register. Everyone enjoyed tea, biscuits, wordsearches and a quiz, followed by a game of seated cricket, with the GoodGymmers on fielding duty. Once the mates had gone home, we put all the chairs back again.

E-Mickle-sion

Tuesday 5th August

Written by Gwyn Williams

Terris, Tracey and Gwyn met Ged at Mickleover Memorial Hall for a session of painting. A big welcome to Terris on her first GoodGym good deed! We looked at the walls of the hall, and thought that we'd be able to paint one. T&T were so fast and efficient that we managed 2 and ran out of paint! Well done; what a team!
