If Weed Only had a (Mem)Brane

Monday 23rd June

Written by Derby runner

Gwyn and Tracey helped Mrs A with her garden.

We cleared all of the weeds from one of the garden beds, and laid down some mebrane to stop them from growing back. Mrs A is going to cover the area with gravel to make her garden easier to manage.

She was delighted with our work, and provided us with smiles, drinks, and stories about her pets, who are extremely well loved.

Mrs M was a great support to us, providing all the tools we needed, and keeping us topped up with iced drinks and encouragement. She was delighted to have the extra space in her garden and showed us a picture of the gazebo that she plans to put in place of the shed.

May fair. Go! (do not collect £200)

Sunday 18th May

Written by Gwyn Williams

Tracey and Gwyn met Ann for the jolly task of delivering leaflets publicizing the church's May fair. It was good to have Tracey's secret weapon: the wooden spoon to push the leaflets through. So good when there's a dog the other side. We met a few chatty neighbours and an overfriendly Alsatian!

Tracey and Gwyn had another good morning at DCF's Parkinson's Cricket in Allestree today. After a long warm-up, everyone got down to cricket, including getting balls way up the stage, followed by tea and biscuits and the all-important chat!
