All the Jingle Ladies (& men)!

Wednesday 10th December 2025

Written by Laura

Tonight was our Christmas party where we got to celebrate all we'd achieved this year & to have some fun! We met at a church hall to have pizza, sweet treats and play games including charades, silly games with cups & the cereal box game (I guess you had to be there)! We finished off with a quiz & celebrated GoodGym Leeds' numbers this year. We did a whopping 709 good deeds, helping 26 different, local organisations, had 12 socials including our first camping trip & we did 2 races (with 2 more to come in December). What a great time we've had doing it all! From members who have been here throughout, to new members who have become part of the team, thanks so much for making GoodGym Leeds so great!

Shall we do it all again in 2026?!

Thanks to Chloe & Rachael for running games tonight.

Happy Christmas everyone!

Danger Mouse

Saturday 11th October 2025

Written by Laura

On a lovely, sunny Autumn morning, we headed to meet Lynn at Beckhill Community Garden to help out with some weeding and wood chipping. They're getting ready to plant some bulbs next month, so we were helping to prepare the garden for that.

I brought my two little dogs with me who provided cuddles & entertainment & one found what looked like a dead mouse & ate the whole thing...I have a feeling she might pay for that later!

Thanks for a great morning all.

Another great evening spent at Beckhill Community Garden tonight.

We ran from Heart to meet Lyn for litter picking, laying cardboard & spreading lots of wood chip over a large area. We finished off with a bit of weeding.

Happy belated birthday to Lyn!

Tonight we said goodbye to Elspeth who's moving to Nottingham, good luck & we'll miss you!

Welcome to Dan who joined us for the first time in years tonight .

Christian didn't fall far from the tree

Wednesday 20th August 2025

Written by Laura

Christian was in his element tonight, he was climbing and sawing trees and playing football with local kids.

The group headed up to Beckhill Community Garden to trim the Ivy from the tree, tidy up the weeping willow & we then put the cuttings onto the dead hedge we made a few weeks ago.

The rest of the gang weeded and trimmed tomatoes. We were then sent home with some Chicken wood mushrooms, runner beans, yellow cucumbers & courgettes. Thanks Lyn!

Helen took the group on a magical mystery tour on the way back!

We said goodbye to Katie who's going travelling for 3 months. Have fun Katie and see you at Christmas!

Hammer Time

Saturday 19th July 2025

Written by Laura

This morning, 7 of us met in the pouring rain at Beckhill Community Garden to saw & hammer posts into the ground to create a dead hedge. Helen pruned tomato plants and Elspeth did some weeding and in hour we'd achieved what we set out to do. Good work all.

Welcome to Helen & Aurora who joined us for the first time. Hopefully see you again.

All's well that ends well...

What an eventful night we had last night at GoodGym Leeds!

The group ran up to Beckhill Community Garden to help them weed, woodchip and tidy up. At the start of the session a group of local children had found a dog wandering around alone. Luckily, he was a friendly old gentleman and he let me pick him up. After trying to find an owner and having no luck, we decided to take him to a local vet so that they could scan him for a microchip. Jason luckily wasn't far from home so ran up to get his car & drove me and the dog to the vets. Whilst the vet found a chip, the number was out of service, so I was about to bring him back and see which GoodGymer could keep him for the night when Helen called saying they'd found the owner...phew! The dogs name was Charlie & he'd had quite the adventure! Safe to say he was happy to be reunited with his mum.

Meanwhile, Helen had fixed a little girls bike whilst we'd been gone and the others actually did the job we were there to do!

What a dramatic evening spent helping the whole community. Good work team!

Welcome back to Naomi :)
