Tonight we had to split the group in two but we missed being part of a full group!
Helen, Amy, Alan & I did leafletting for Headingley Development Trust. We were promoting both Headingley Greengrocers & the Natural Foodstore. These are community run shops, funded by the Development Fund.
The rest of the group headed up to Rainbow Junction at All Hallows Church. We had a quick jog there, met Jules and Saul and then started working on digging up a hilly patch that they want to turn into tiered veggie plots. We were each armed with a mattock and got digging - it was a great work out. Lauren also had a go on the streamer to clear some of the longer grass - which she said gave her flash backs to earning her pocket money. Then thankfully the sunset reminded us that we should probably be heading again and we jogged back again.
We're looking forward to getting the gang back together next week, but thanks all for chipping in.

Tonight me & my eyebrows met the gang at Heart & had a run down to Meanwood Valley Farm.
We had a big hoe down, weeding the polytunnels and the outside beds. Freddie used a very cool contraption which is called a weed snatcher! We also laid some compost & had a general tidy up.
The run back was quite dark...I think head torches are now needed sadly!
Well done to Shannen on her 50th good deed tonight :) You're a superstar!
A big welcome to Analise & Angela, we hope to see you again soon. It was also nice to see Emily again after a long break.

...you had to be there for that one!!
Tonight we had a new task & headed up to Shire Oak Primary School to help paint the walls for the new sensory outdoor classroom. We got to work & managed to do all the weeding too. The walls will need another coat, so we're going back in October to finish the job.
Lots of amusing conversations were had with topics including eyebrows, beards, tents blowing away, the US ambassador and comedy writing! Oh and a phoneless chimney sweep...
Thanks for a great evening all :)
