Alice Barker (she/her) completed 25 good deeds with GoodGym.

Alice has already done 25 good deeds with GoodGym. Instead of doing anything else, they've used their run to go and help people that need their help; digging, lifting, scraping, clearing, planting and weeding. Stuff that makes this a better place to be.

All the Jingle Ladies (& men)!

Leeds Report written by Laura

Tonight was our Christmas party where we got to celebrate all we'd achieved this year & to have some fun! We met at a church hall to have pizza, sweet treats and play games including charades, silly games with cups & the cereal box game (I guess you had to be there)! We finished off with a quiz & celebrated GoodGym Leeds' numbers this year. We did a whopping 709 good deeds, helping 26 different, local organisations, had 12 socials including our first camping trip & we did 2 races (with 2 more to come in December). What a great time we've had doing it all! From members who have been here throughout, to new members who have become part of the team, thanks so much for making GoodGym Leeds so great!

Shall we do it all again in 2026?!

Thanks to Chloe & Rachael for running games tonight.

Happy Christmas everyone!

Strike and we're all in!

Leeds Report written by Leeds runner

On the weekend (oooops), four GoodGymers made their way to Hollywood Bowl for a social bowling. Although it was an unlimited night with a 3 hour slot, I didn't think we'd stay long enough to see it all through but suprisingly we got very close before we all decided to be sensible and go home but time flies when you're having fun!

We all had our moments of glory and not so much glory. Eva came to just have fun and didn't care about her score... until she started demolishing us and getting a strike. Alice bucked her trend of getting 7-8-9s, by finally getting her first strike which was witnessed by the entire venue (or we were all nattering away and she had to celebrate this glory by herself).

Whilst in the other games, Eva and Alice took their turns to be the best, Adam had the highest scores in the game. So when it was the final round of the final game, he was on 101 points and I trailed behind on 83-something, it was impossible for me to catch up. Unless... I happened to get a strike and then had to follow it up with at least a 9 to pip him to it. Which is exactly what happened - strike and a 9 with a final miss to give me the win with a 102 points 🤭

What a fun night, lets do it again!

A Joke is a Very Serious Thing

Leeds Report written by Laura

Tonight, we met at Heart for a very soggy run through Beckett Park & were completely soaked when we got back! We then did a Christmas crafts activity for CAMHS mental health units. This is a task we did last year, making paper chains with jokes on for the young people to put up in their units. Helen & Christian cut the paper while the rest of us wrote Christmas jokes on them. I'll send them off this week.

Well done to Lydia who completed her 25th good deed tonight.

Welcome back to Helen who was a member before Covid & joined us back again after a long break this evening, we hope to see you again soon :)

Good work team!

A Whale of a Time at the Mog & Sauna

Leeds Report written by Laura

What a lovely day we've had :)

This morning, we met at Leeds Community Sauna for their volunteer day. We moved wood, benches & pallets and Jubz dug out some ground next to the sauna.

The sauna is a community-oriented, affordable sauna space nestled amongst the trees and the river Aire. It will provide a space for peace, health, and connection. They have one sauna and are building a second. These will sit alongside cold plunges, showers, a space to relax before and after sauna sessions & a natural glade area. We can't wait to go along once it's open!

We then headed for some lunch at Mog cafe & then to Meanwood Valley Trail for a 6.5K walk. Jubz & Alina were determined to find the whale stones along the trail, which we eventually discovered & they provided good photo opportunities!

Welcome back to Alina & nice to meet Sammy too.

Thanks for a great day all.

Quick Quest in the Quadrangle

Leeds Report written by Laura

On my 150th good deed, we met at Heart and Helen took the group on a 4.5K run through Beckett Park on the way to Shire Oaks primary school. We were there to finish off the painting for the sensory garden that we started in September. Jason arrived early to take apart an old bench (thank you) & then spent most of the session up a ladder! We managed to get the second coat of paint on the walls in good time and it looks loads better! Janie gave us flapjack & tea...we're not used to this kind of service. Thank you!
