Saturday 26th October

Written by David Head

A Fantastic day greeting us on the Avon for our monthy surface against sewage. Mark our fantastic host greeted us with his 2 barrels. Welcome to Molly for her first GG good deed 👏. We scaled the banks collecting recyclable and non recyclables. A large cabin bag was our largest find today. A great job keeping our Avon cleaner for all to enyoy🌄

Galloping up the Avon furlongs

Saturday 3rd August

Written by David Head

A lovely morning greated the GG team with host Mark from Surfers against Sewage. We tackled a section of the high grass verges and soon we filled multiple bags. Today's star find was a one eared horse. We barrowed are goodies back to the pick up point before a final photo. Then we trotted off to the garden centre for coffee and treats. Great work everyone 👍

Yazzing up the plastic pollution

Saturday 22nd June

Written by David Head

A beautiful day greeted us on the banks of the Avon for out monthly surfers against sewage. The grass was long but we used our pickers to wade through to discover a host of litter. So much large hard plastic was collected today. We did the 2 barrow load rubbish trek back to the drop off point and then after a final snap we were of to the Waterside cafe for some home made goodies. Did Emma buy another rose? Great work everyone it makes such a difference 👏

Frigonometry

Wednesday 22nd May

Written by David Head

A strange sighting of 4 people with a large chest fridge spotted along the peel path. Not a typical story line for the GG standard but our biggest white good collected from the Avon to date as part of surfers against sewage. Awesome effort by Mark our host and the GG crew to get it all the way back to the council collection site. We could have froze at the dauting task ahead. But took a chilled approach. We also bagged loads of rubbish too. Awesome work👍

Doggy paddel is not a rubbish stroke

Saturday 27th April

Written by David Head

The rain kept off as we gathered under the suspension bridge. The tide was high but we did not want to go home. Armed with pickers we made great progress clearing the grassy verges and the sidewalk. Finds of the day were a very small plastic dog, a paddle and funnel. We gathered the rubbish near the collection area. Then off to the garden centre cafe to sample the lovely home made food. A great morning with amazing GG and Mark to really help keep this iconic area clean. 👏

Going coco in aquapulco

Saturday 2nd March

Written by David Head

A fantastic turnout today to help Mark at surfers against sewage in these wet conditions. Thanks to everyone as you made a real difference. Meeting under the skate park we paddled our way and even did a spot of boldering to keep our tootsies dry as we walked along the peel path to meet Mark and his 2 barrows. We then climbed down into the grassy verge and scanned the plain collecting as much pesky litter as possible in the hour. We handed 5 general waste and 3 recycling bag fulls. Key finds of the day was a coconut with a happy facial expression. We then barrowed our way back to the rubbish drop of point and a final photo with the fab team and Mark. We then had a lovely coffee and bite at the Garden centre. Awesome place. Great job 👏
