Well we laid down our burden but not in the African-American spiritual song … instead, 6 full bags of litter collected by the three amigos from the grassy verges of the riverside. We had to leave a challenge for next time in the charred form of a burned out motorbike … brrrring it on …

3 GoodGymers deployed to the Leigh Woods side of the Avon River this morning clearing an admirable 6 bin liners of various flotsam and jetsam. An abundance of footballs lead to an impromptu kick / stick around. Nice work team!

A fantastic day greeting us on the Avon for our monthly surface against sewage litter pick.
Mark, our fantastic host, greeted us with his 2 barrels. Welcome to Molly for her first GG good deed 👏.
We scaled the banks collecting recyclables and non recyclables. A large cabin bag was our largest find today. A great job keeping our Avon cleaner for all to enjoy🌄

The rain cleared nicely and GG was joined by 3 Surfers Against Sewage members. This time we tackled the verges on the Portway side that had accumulated a lot of litter. With great enthusiasm we filled 5 clear and 5 green bags between us and some large objects. Looking back we could see the verge back to its natural greenness glistening under the Suspension Bridge.
Thank you Surfers Against Sewage.

A warming up morning greeted 4 GGers and a lovely group of surfers against sewage. We sweeped across the Avon banks with our pickers wading through the long grass and finding loads of litter in the clear verges including a toy base ball bat to stimulate the pun. In the end we wheeled back 8 full bags of rubbish and bulky items. A big home run of rubbish saved from the Avon. Awesome 👌

A lovely morning greated the GG team with host Mark from Surfers against Sewage. We tackled a section of the high grass verges and soon we filled multiple bags. Today's star find was a one eared horse. We barrowed are goodies back to the pick up point before a final photo. Then we trotted off to the garden centre for coffee and treats. Great work everyone 👍
