15 GG heroes descended on York Knavesmire to work as ice marshals, finish token hander outers, barcode scanners, funnel managers and run report writer ensuring that York parkrun was one of only a handful of events that go to go ahead in Yorkshire this week

❄️ 8 excellent GoodGymmers gathered on a cold but crisp Saturday morning for a spot of parkrun volunteering. We had pacers, marshalls, timekeepers and token-ers, all trying to keep warm to the best of our ability.
😎 Afterwards, some people went on to the next task (and the one after that, and maybe even the one after that!), keen for a whole day of doing good.
Good work everyone 💪

More puddle than track but that didn't hold back GG York volunteers who paced, kept time, scanned barcodes, funnel managed and checked finish numbers for the first good deed of the year!
588 parkrunners got their feel good start to the year thanks to our volunteers!

A bunch of GG Yorkies braved the very cold winds 💨 down at the Knavesmire this morning. At least the track was dry and the ground fairly firm today.
We covered various roles from pacing, timekeeping and scanning to funnel managing and marshalling - even Fergs the dog 🐶 helped and we were all very jealous of Amy's big coat!
Just over 700 people took part today and it wouldn't have been possible without our valiant volunteers. If anyone would like to volunteer in future weeks then email York parkrun at york@parkrun.com. The future roster can be seen here https://www.parkrun.org.uk/york/futureroster/

It was a chilly but dry morning for parkrun and 7 of us volunteered to support the over 600 runners on the Knavesmire. We took on a variety of roles including timekeeping, finish tokens, barcode scanning, funnel managing. Apart from Laura losing her voice in the middle of the first timer briefing it all went smoothly.
