Haddock and Chips

Windsor and Maidenhead Report written by Louise Tyrell

7 Goodgymmers were very chip-er at todays task of spreading wood chip in the forest area at St Marys pre school

Tony was a magnificent sight standing atop of a pile of wood chip with his fish and chips in hand- it provided much nourishment for the task at hand

An hour in and you wooden believe the difference we made in the area. The weeds and dirt were covered over with a fresh batch of wood chip, making for a mu(l)ch more usable space for the school

The end of the task loomed and we said goodbye to our task owner Michelle and made our way homes

Good Graft and solvent in the air!

Windsor and Maidenhead Report written by Windsor and Maidenhead runner

Hard work on the arms tonight brushing on solvent paint remover to break down a graffiti piece in place for years.

Working in the layers we each took on a letter and kept going for the hour. Towards the end the jet wash attacked our efforts and we shall have to wait for the morning to see the result.

Although many more coats will be needed, a very rewarding task where lots of residents walking and running oast cheered and said tgank you to us.

No preserve, no party - Ivy gotta disagree

Windsor and Maidenhead Report written by Windsor and Maidenhead runner

The weather didn't play ball, so we had to change our plans from painting preserve on the fence to removing ivy from it. There's nothing that fazes GoodGym spirit though. So 11 of us went at the remaining ivy (we've removed a whole lot in the past) with gusto. Some also took out time to rake away the leaves and branches near the fence.

Special shout out to newcomer Paris for her first session with GG. Welcome!

Post and leaf let

Windsor and Maidenhead Report written by Windsor and Maidenhead runner

Five Goodgymers got their steps in delivering leaflets to spread the word of the upcoming Kite Festival at Boyn Grove park for Norden Farm.

Splitting into two groups and disappearing into familiar residential routes for some. After an hour each and all leaflets delivered we reconvened and discussed our opinions of the houses we visited.

Big house, small houses, angry dogs, surprise dogs through cat flaps and eager residents snatching the leaflet from the letterbox before we made it off the drive.

We compared sizes and shapes of letter box or sometimes no letter box. It turns out delivering leaflets requires more skill and a higher step count than we thought.

All good fun.
