On what turned out to be a crisp and chilly morning, GoodGymmers Matthew, Ben, Nicola and Kanika met Jack along with the lovely task owners from Nature's Haven at the Maidenhead Community Centre.
We had our tasks laid out - digging for the new veg beds and building frames for the bed. Ben, Matthew and Jack got into the sawin' of timber and building the beds. Nicola and Kanika grabbed spades to start a diggin' under the guidance of volunteer Roger and his dog Buddy (who looked fetching in his red coat bringing the GG colour to the proceedings).
On previous visits, GGers had already cleared the area of bushes and brambles. As the diggin' went along, many adjustments were needed to get the bed frames down flat. Matthew joined the diggers and deep channels appeared soon enough. With a lot of fiddling, Jack and Ben helped with layin' of the first veg bed.
Two hours went by in no time and with a lot of appreciation from our task owners, we bid our farewell's and headed off in different directions.
