Today was our last day of improving the grounds around Southsea Medical Centre. Todays gardening team were Paul, Tracey Dean & John and all three enjoyed working in the glorious sunshine on St. David's Day.
It was great to see Tracey back with us for this task and she soon got to work removing weeds from the church car park. Some of the weeds were easy to remove but as always there were some that tried to hang on for grim death.
Paul's main objective was to trim back the hedge on the road side of the car park. This completed all the hedge cutting that has been carried out over the last few weeks and really makes a visual impact on the area.
John's first task was to remove as many of the brambles as possible in the area by the bike shed. He now has hands with more perforations than a teabag. Once that task was completed he joined Paul in clearing up all the hedge cuttings from the road.
It was great to chat with some of the medical centre staff and receive their thanks for all the hard work put in by GG members during these tasks. It's been our pleasure and I am sure we will be back once evrything has sprung back into life.
