Give a little bit of heart and sole
2 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Portsmouth.

Following the cancellation of the People Memorial litter pick due to Lockdown 2.0, we decided to head over to the foreshore by Whale Island for a bit of beach combing ;-) as there is always plenty to do there. After finding the sole of a shoe and plenty of bottle lids, we had a theme for the task - Heart and Sole. There was plenty of the usual litter items including gas lighters, plastic wrapping and of course the obligatory sock. The biggest find of the day was a bike with a buckled wheel and looked like it's number (plate) was up. We suspect the owner may have been a learner driver judging by the 'L' plate. At first we had only picked up a few items for recycling but this all changed when we arrived at the boat yard area. We have included some before and after photos of this area and we ended up with two good size bags of cans, bottles, etc. Vicki even had time for a little garden art once we got home! A passerby stopped to ask how he could get involved with a litter picking group, so we may have recruited a new GoodGymer.
