Twenty two tremendous GoodGymers gathered at the Phoenix Cinema to run to Martin Primary AND celebrate our third birthday!!!!
As we gathered at the start we reflected on three years of ggb - and were joined by Freya who was at the very first ggb! - and tourists Liz from Camden and Julie and Rita from Haringey 💪
We set off on the short run to the school arriving in no time. We met Fay and Claire who were already there and were set our task by the caretaker, John. There would be shovelling, transporting and spreading wood chip and mulch across the clearing in the woodland and along the outdoor paths.
Everyone got to work. Abdul, Rob, Ed, Andras, Julie and Rita grabbed shovels and got shoveling. Liz, Vicki, Jenny and Freya grabbed the full wheelbarrows and bins to transport it all, while spreaders Saba, Fiona, Fay and Jodie set to work keeping the mulch and wood chip spread evenly.
Guys, we moved so much wood chip.
With half an hour's effort, we covered the whole path with evenly spread mulch and packed up ready for a fitness session.. after a team photo of course 👀
The team were looking so good strutting back from the woods, as the sun sank from the sky behind them, that they were dubbed #mulchfiction 😎 (thank you to pun creator extraordinaire Liz for that one).
This week's fitness session was laps of the tennis court. We quickly warned up then worked on fast laps with active recovery in-between. It was a brilliant effort all around from everyone and we celebrated with a quick go in the outdoor play area in the school field 🚸
From there it was a short run back for stretches and a PUB trip 🍻
Thanks for coming team. Here's to the next three years 🎉
