It was good to see Mr V again - he apologised he hadn't prepared his list, but I said I was happy to wait outside (and enjoy the sunshine!) whilst he did his homework. A few minutes later he passed me the list and money - we did a quick run through - and he asked me to visit the pound shop next to Asda to get him a diary, calendar and a couple of mops.

The shopping part went smoothly enough and I then had £10 left to get what he needed from next door. Innocently I perhaps assumed most things would be just a £ or thereabouts, but no - so sadly Mr V's budget only stretched to 1 mop plus the diary/calendar. Even Mr V was astonished that the mop was £5.99 - seems nothing escapes inflation these days...even at the local pound shop!
