16 hardy Friends of Nore Barn Woods braved the chill morning to clear the main path adjacent to the wood (which will form part of the new King Charles III Coast path).
We raked, lopped, trimmed and wheeled away countless barrows-full, to ensure easy walking through this well-loved local woodland.
Val was the Refreshments-monitor this month, keeping the volunteers fed and watered.

Thank you to Val for the report title - she got all Burdock-burred-up at Nore Barn Wood!
The Friends group were all ready for a battle with the brambles and nettles - between us we cleared 4 woodland glades to let in enough light for the bluebells and other wildflowers to show their faces next Spring.
This was truly a good gym workout - plenty of sweaty brows and aerobic exercise - healthy woodland medicine for the body and soul.

It was good to work in the shade of the Nore Barn Woods, on a sweltering hot day. We cleared brambles and nettles that were encroaching on the paths.
We finished at 11am to hold the AGM of the Friends of Nore Barn Woods, with drinks and refreshments following the formal business.
A lovely chatty task, with many hands making light work.

A lovely hot & sunny morning working with the Friends of Nore Barn Woods (FONBW), clearing bramble and overhanging branches from the path along the foreshore and in the woods. The FONBW volunteers are always so welcoming, and there were a lot of interesting conversations as well as great conservation! I wax a lone GGer today and chatted to people walking along the paths about the tasks we were doing and about how essential volunteering is to many organisations, even for just 1 hour a month! Come and join next month if you can!

Today's session involved a few volunteers continuing with the log path; others repairing a dead hedge; and the majority of us clearing brambles before coffee and widening a footpath after coffee.
Lots achieved with a good workout, and I even remembered to look up and appreciate the beauty of the coastal views.

Val and I joined the regular monthly workparty at Nore Barn Woods for a good physical workout.
Val was squelching in mud, laying a new stretch of log path.
I joined the group weaving a beautiful dead hedge from hazel coppicing.
We were both so busy, we didn't remember to do a selfie until we were in the pub afterwards for our well-deserved lunch!
