A fulfilling (if sweaty mission) saw Jonny and Holly clear out the back area of the community centre so they could start to use it.
Ed as ever was a generous task owner and bought us sandwiches and cold drinks for the unseasonal weather and we had a fruitful discussion on HS2 and the ban on smoking.
Unfortunately, several snails were lost as we parsed our way through the larger weeds however me and Holly endeavoured to save as many as we can!

A blast from the past for myself, and a very warm (literally given the weather) welcome to Andreea as we helped the new owners of the Springvale community centre clear out the front porch of the centre to begin its renovation to help the local residents.
Andreea, myself and the Springvale covered all manner of subjects from North West music, rugby and general events as we scrapped and chopped back all the weeds that had made a home between the flags. In doing so, we also rescued a string of strawberry runners which may not be planted in the backgarden!
Well done to Andreea on her first mission, hope to see you again soon!

On a sunny Saturday morning, eight GoodGym superwomen met to tidy up Springvale Estate Residents Hall in preparation for polling day on May 6th. The GoodGym gang were greeted by Berni, who explained the three main tasks which needed to be completed:
'Big little' Beth had an improptu tour of the Springvale Estate as she attempted to track down the rest of the group, but it wasn't long before she was located and led into the garden of Springvale Estate Residents Hall.
Everyone armed themselves with tools, or in Michelle's case a feather duster, and quickly set to work. Jess and Analiese collected together the rubbish at the front of the hall, and quickly moved around to the roadside path to begin removing the weeds that had sprung up again. Analiese discovered the joy of the 's*** hot weeding tool', a favourite at GoodGym H&F and made light work of the weeds using it,
Michelle dusted and removed all the cobwebs from around the door while Lucy, Aine and 'Big little' Beth focused their weeding efforts on the the side path that would be poll station entrance! Beth and Clare weeded and swept the garden patio area. Michelle found another 's*** hot weeding tool' in the shed and joined Beth and Clare on the patio area, along with a tame robin who sat and seranded the group from one of the plant pots.
Eight pairs of GoodGym hands had the front and garden area of Springvale Estate Residents Hall looking spick and span in no time at all, ready for it to be a poll station next week. Berni offered around a 'healthy' treat of Haribos as a thank you, and we said our goodbyes. Girl power!

Lovely first mission for me at the Springvale Estate helping Berni to distribute food parcels to local residents who weren’t able to collect them. There were three Good Gymers helping today so plenty of positive vibes and community feelings - and a lot of pumpkins too!

A busy first day of Lockdown 2.0. Two Hammersmith Good Gymers, Lucy and myself headed to the Springvale Estate Community Hall to help distribute frozen meals and fresh food to local residents who were unable to collect it themselves. I got a few funny looks walking along residential streets with a trolley full of food bags, but it was worth it. Some of the food bags were heavy! Residents seemed happy both with the well food bags and the bright sunshine. Thanks to Berni at Springvale Estate for letting us help the local residents.
