We gathered outside Glass Mill this evening not wanting to get to used to the warmth inside, well that was my reasoning when I arrived first. Before we set off to RUSS, we had a moment to celebrate our achievements in the January Challenge!!
Alicia and I, set off first and nearly beat the rest of the group to the task. Steve very kindly putting the group through their paces with a warm up and run to the task.
We arrived at the task and soon found Ollie who was in charge of giving us our instructions for the evening. It a good old fashioned GG task of digging and moving the soil. The area we started before Christmas is nearly complete so it was time for us to move onto a new area of the garden. Post-task we were treated to tea and biscuits before we set off back to Glass Mill.
It was great to have Alicia along for her first group run and following on from a very muddy community mission in Blythe Hill Fields. We hope to see you again soon!
Next week, we are heading over to Senior's! Don't forget to sign up, it's an indoor task.

Root puns have a way of growing on you 😋
And what a lovely morning we had rooting around at Roots4Life and finding lots of rubbish to fill our bags and take us off the straight and narrow and into the beautiful and boggy grounds at this amazing charity.
Six GoodGymers (and one honourary) gathered for a briefing from Sophie before donning some spare wellies and walking boots, gathering some bags and pickers and heading out to enjoy some chatting whilst picking up litter around the space. Our treasure included a tie and a fetching orange ball which Arthur kept!
Before long it was time for a welcome cuppa and a gorgeous piece of banana bread - what a treat! Special shout out to Justine and Alicia for joining - it was lovely to meet you both and hope we'll see much more of you.
We'll be back here on a monthly basis to help out with various projects so keep your eyes peeled for future dates!
There's a task at Lesnes Abbey Woods tomorrow and on Wednesday we'll be at Hurst Community Centre - do come along if you're free!
Until next time!

Alicia and Paul went to the top of Blythe Hill to help plant an orchard with the Friends of the park. As water flows downhill it might be reasonable to assume that it would be a dry location. But due to the London Clay topping the hill it is possibly the muddiest place in Lewisham.
We dug holes, mixed in mulch, planted trees, banged in support posts and put cages around the trees all in ankle deep mud -proper cross country conditions. It was SO much fun.

I don't mind being knee deep in mud! ...looking forward to seeing the outcome later in 2025!
