Lambeth Report written by Yianny (he / him)
A perfect evening for a bit of hard liftin' & shiftin' down at Loughborough Farm so what are we waiting for let's go!
AA Yianny was in a race against traffic to get to Papa's from out of London to drop off the keys with Lambeth Run Leaders Joao taking the group out this eve. In the end I made it and in the end no-one needed to use the hall - standard!
It was great to have Ellie back with us after a while away - she even brough some juicy GG insider info - although the veracity of said info is currently under review (it made us all laugh though!)
This evening's category was favourite childhood character with Billy Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Tony Hawk, Tigger among others that made an appearance.
We had Marie-Noelle and Paul meeting the group down at the Farm and Anthea and her team were there to show the crew what needed doing. Mainly it was shifting the heavy boards from one railway arch to another so that the Farm can complete its' move.
As ever the team got through plenty of work and Anthea was delighted so well done all!
We will be back next week - same time - same place -see you then.

Last night we were back out there despite the freezing conditions and constant threat of rain (which thank fully never came!)
Ellie was back with us which was great and Alice continues her streak meeting us at the task.
This task is one of our longest runs at around 3.5kms each way from base however a little local knowledge and we were able to use a few shortcuts to reduce the distance slightly - very helpful for those recovering from injuries despite the elevation gain!
The task was a familiar one, help Andrea move GROAD's donations from one storage unit to another. Given how much they are growing at the moment we were expecting a gargantuan stack of things but it turns out the Andrea has done a huge amount of the work (BY HERSELF!) so we had a more manageable amount and some huge barrels to shift.
Marie-Noelle and Paul were already there by the time we arrived and were on box breakdown duty for recycling so Charlotte, Alice, Michael and Ellie grabbed a trolley for a crash - literally - course in steering rear wheel steering.
For the most part it was a straightforward job of stacking boxes onto trolleys and moving them but one more complex operation was huge barrels full of clothes stacked floor to ceiling so climbing on a high chair and dropping the barrels onto the waiting hands of others. Happily everyone was kept safe and the task was fully complete by the time we left.
The run back to base involved a short but steep uphill followed by a long shallow decline back down to Brixton - hurrah to that!
Thank you everyone and see you next time :0)

6 awesome GoodGym-mers met with the lovely Tom at Hillside Gardens on this lovely sunny Saturday morning and we all split into pairs to get some jobs done. These included weeding around the gooseberry bushes then laying down woodchip, loading up wheelbarrow loads of woodchip for the allotment path, pruning down some dying shrubs that were showing little signs of life at the bases :) and enjoying a cup of tea and double decker bars that Tom kindly offered to us. We also found a Newt, who we named Nigel. He was hiding behind the weeds on the wall, and was very cute. We left him be and covered him up with some leaves to give him back some privacy. All in all a great session - thanks to those who came !

A Tourist likes nothing better than exploring new areas and meeting new people, and that's what Ellie has been doing. Ellie has been to three different GoodGym areas now - nice!

Curious? Ellie has just run their first session in another area. For that explorative spirit Ellie is awarded the scout badge. A Scout is trustworthy

Wandsworth Report written by Anastasia Hancock (she/her)
It was great to see some new faces at GoodGym Wandsworth last night - so a huge welcome to Emily, Adam and Fadia!
There was a definite chill in the air last night so we got straight on with a warm up for both body and brain. First we got our muscles working with a series of high knees, heel flicks and those tricky reverse lunges before all naming a tube station that starts with the same letter as our first names. That was definitely more challenging for some of us (sorry Jordan!).
Our job for the evening was at food charity Waste Not Want Not who have big plans to refurb their headquarters to include greater services for local users, including a dining area and shower.
Unfortunately we had a bit of a wait to get access, and it was just as we decided to kill time with some wall sits that Hadas turned up to let us in - just in the nick of time!
There was plenty to do once we got inside, so we quickly got cracking shifting donations, sorting through piles of tin cans and packing up food. With such a flurry of activity the time flew by until we realised we had to go and there was no time for fitness - next time we'll do double! Great work tonight everyone, it makes a big difference at a small charity that people really rely on.
Next week we are back at Doddington garden to help with various jobs followed by our monthly pub quiz social, hope to see you there!
