6 of the Luton Goodgym faithful got stuck in at the last of 6 cooking sessions at the Shri Guru Ravidass Sangat Gudwara, where the Aunties at the temple were holding cooking classes with other community organisations. Our troops got stuck in with the washing up as huge pans were coming from the stove to the sinks. Others were helping to make roti and Cooke the curry. As always Goodgymers are made to feel at home at the temple with a sample of the delights cooked that evening. Everyone enjoyed themselves and we made friends with the Someries Rotary Club, an organisation we may be able to collaborate with in the future. Great work on this task 👏 👍🏻 👌

A great turn out from the Goodgym Massive to support the cooking and feasting at the Shri Guru Ravidass Sangat temple.
Everyone got stuck in welcoming the other groups attending; cooking, preparing, serving and cleaning up, helping to bring different community groups together and learn dome culinary skills too!
We also celebrated with the legend that is Martin as he completed his 500th Goodgym task earlier in the evening...a hats off to a monster milestone!
A fantastic feast served up with extra portions to take home...yum!

7 Luton Goodgymers turned out to support the Shri Guru Ravidass Sangat Gudwara with their 2nd of 6 cooking classes. A project bringing communities together by sharing skills, making friendships and creating memories ( and some delicious food). Well done to everyone who attended 👏 👍🏻 🙌

We've been focusing on fitness recently at GoodGym Luton and as part of that, our member Alkesh helpfully hosted an indoor bodyweight workout designed to boost our muscle strength and conditioning.
After an activating warm-up we commenced three ten minute sets, doing ten different exercises for one minute each, and increasing the intensity for each set.
Alky did a great job helping everyone find the right level for them and although we all finished up sweaty, it was smiles all round 😊

Luton Goodgymers were out today supporting the Shri Guru Ravidass Sangat Gudwara with the smooth running of the anniversary celebrations of the birth of the temples 🛕 guru and the presentation of the the Kings award for voluntary services. 5 of the Luton team took part in a procession with drummers, carrying a large banner and other decorative effects. Part of the celebration involves replacing the flag outside the Gudwara, this is called the Nishan Sahib and when the new flag was raised our team were in charge of letting off confetti cannons. The temple presented Goodgym Luton with a certificate of recognition for the ongoing support we have given to the temple which has helped them in their bid to be awarded the King's award for voluntary services. This was a great session to be a part of. Well done today team 👏

Wow! What an epic afternoon. We had a team of 7 GoodGymers who turned up to spend the afternoon at Farley Community Centre to help make sure that the Christmas Dinner for senior residents went off with lots of festive cheer. It was great fun and lovely to see the older folk really enjoying themselves.
Yasin, Gill and Derrick were first to arrive, and soon got busy getting the hall ready: setting up tables, getting out the chairs, sweeping etc. Dee and Mayra joined the team and helped to finish off laying up the place settings and getting ready to serve the food. Once service started it was all hands on deck to make sure that all 50 guests were served a cracking three course dinner as swiftly as possible, so we were pleased that Freddy arrived to help out too.
There was time for the GoodGymers to enjoy a lunch themselves and Omar and Gill even got involved in the dancing (well who can resist a bit of Reggae?) before starting the mammoth task of clearing up the dishes while the party goers enjoyed their bingo and raffle. Omar excelled himself as the most efficient pot washer in the GoodGym team.
By 5 o'clock we had cleared the hall, wiped the tables and swept the floor, leaving it all immaculate. Vera was so pleased with our efforts that we were all given a box of biscuits as a thank you, and as the night drew in we all set off on foot for home.
