This morning the Singing Cafe at Sundon Park Baptist Church played host to around 50 people. This weekly event run by the church and supported by local Goodgymers 🙌 gives members of the local community a chance to get out and meet others where they possibly may not have. Age is no barrier at this event as there were toddlers, teens, young adults and I was even introduced to a lady who was proud to 96 years of age. There was lots of food for everyone and coffee, tea and soft drinks were also available. After the food had been devoured our very own Charmaine turned up the volume on the stereo and got everyone up dancing, whilst proudly showing off her recently acquired wings t-shirt 🪽 for completing 100 GG tasks. It was a real pleasure to support this task today and I hope to share in the fun and laughter again some time soon. Well done team, great effort today 👏

This week's group run was a long one heading out to a raking task by the river a good 5km away from our start point in town.
We had to throw in a small diversion to pick up the rakes and a drag mat from a locked up allotment nearby and then head over to the riverside where a long lone of brambles had been cut down and our task was to rake up the cuttings and drag them over the bridge to a spot where they can be collected by van.
David, Omar and Martin did their best and collected an impressive pile in the short time on site. A few more people would have been lovely as it was definitely hard work!
We left definitely feeling like we'd had a workout and wishing we'd eaten before instead of after the task!

Four Luton Goodgymers helped to support the 2nd day of Breakfast Battery Boxes half term project. The team packed and distributed 20 food parcels for the organisation. Working with other volunteers from the local community, Goodgym were able to give a helping hand to some of our vulnerable families in Luton North. Great work team 👏
