6 Goodgymers joined the Shri Guru Ravidass Sangat Gudwara in Luton on session 4 of their curry cooking classes. Our team helped to clean pots and pans and annoyed a share of the culinary spoils too. We're always made to feel so welcome at the temple. We look forward to helping again at the next session

Our group run this week had a unexpected twist as our 🏃♀️ 🏃♂️ and cyclists 🚴♂️ 🚴♀️ headed out to the task at Ferndale Allotment.
After meeting at our usual rendezvous point, and briefing the team on the evening task, we headed off, runners, cyclists and walkers. As the walkers got near to the task site, there was quite a commotion. The runners and cyclists had stopped as they had witnessed a car accident (thankfully no-one was hurt) and had called the police to attend. After checking the team were all ok, the walkers headed to the allotment to start the litterpick task while the others stayed to give statements to the police 🚔 🚔.
Once all back together at the allotment, the team had a successful tidy up on the plots we were asked to tidy and the communal areas and then we all headed back to town.
Interesting evening and the first time statements have provided by Goodgymers to the police on a Luton Group run.
Great effort everyone.

4 Luton Goodgymers helped the Shri Guru Ravidass Sangat temple with their 3rd curry cooking class. There was some amazing chapati rolling skills on show from Adrian and Yazed has pot washing skills that would put any kitchen hand to shame. Everyone got stuck in to support this fantastic project. Great effort, well done team 👏 👏

The FoodCycle Team was augmented as always by several GoodGymers. Gill was on duty as one of the Kitchen Project Leaders, so she was first to arrive at the church to unlock, weigh the produce and get the kitchen ready. She also made 5 large key lime pies ready for dessert. Next on the scene was Martin, closely followed by Lucie and between them, GoodGym made up half of the cooking team tonight, and what a fabulous meal they cooked! Finally Neill arrived for the hosting shift and was soon filling bags with goodies for our guests to take away after the meal, and then wa son door duty to welcome our guests and make sure everyone had a seat and a welcome drink.
On this hot evening we served 40 people plus more than 7 takeaways . It was fantastic team work and effort from everyone as always- food collection team, cooking team, hosting team , host and helpers , team/project leaders ❤️ Thank you everyone for making people around happy 😊
On today’s menu was:
Starter potato in creamy sauce crispy spiced chick peas and mixed salad.
Main Egg kedgeree and salad
Dessert Key lime 🍋🟩 pie bananas 🍌/cream
Well done to the GoodGym team, another great evening; lots of happy guests with full bellies and empty plates. FoodCycle really appreciate our support for this project.
