Report written by Liv Parker-Scott
15 of us met last night to help litter pick in the two central Ealing parks, Lammas & Walpole.
With so many of us we could cover a lot of ground so we split ourselves into groups across the two parks with a goal to be back 40 minutes later to compare notes.
Divide and conker!
The main culprits on the litter front still seem to be a lot of tissue in the bushes (lack of open toilets over lockdown meant people got creative with where they were going...), bottle caps and takeaway rubbish. Luckily though the majority of the stuff on the ground was just conkers!
Once again we got lots of thank yous from passerbys and one man even stopped to tell us how in Sweden they pick up everything and that it was great to see us out trying to make a difference.
It really feels like the end of the summer now and by the time we were finished the darkness was really closing in so we gathered up everything we'd collected across the groups and said our goodbyes.
A temporary farewell to Callum who is off to do his masters up North, see you at Christmas!
