Report written by Dave White
On a bright and fresh evening in Kingston upon Thames, 7 GoodGymers met up at The Quaker Cente, our usual group run starting point. Rachel gave a quick run through of the task ahead during the warm-up routine... Tonight we were off to help the British Heart Foundation. We also welcomed a GG Kingston newcomer, Char. Welcome to GoodGym!
5 of the group headed off for a cheeky pre-task 2.5k jog whilst Char and Dave took a shorter walking route. We all met up again at the BHF along with Jana, the 8th member of tonight's team.
Task owner Christine furnished us with drinks and snacks before leading us through the massive maze of items to sell & sort in the sprawling BHF shop. We ended up in a room named "Neverland" and were presented with an area containing countless disassembled tables. The mission tonight was to marry up any matching surface, legs and bolts ready for the shop floor. Any table with no legs or bolts was to be set aside for scrapping/salvage.
Many hands certainly made light work and we soon split as many tables as we could between saleable and scrap. Once the clock struck 8 we bid the lovely BHF folk farewell and head off back to the QC. Another successful mission complete.
