The Morning shift went well.... John had lots of fun with mobility scooters and Paul guarded at the gate, Sarah was on corridor duty. All good, lots of elderly people receiving their 2nd jab 😊 . Photo taken at shift swap - Paul handing over the gate guarding baton to Tracey.
A short run report really so thought i'd add a bit....
Today marks a year since the UK went into lockdown. More than 126,000 people in the UK who contracted coronavirus have lost their lives.
I never imagined a year ago today that I would be volunteering as part of a mass vaccination program.
I never imagined I would have so much fun with a Walkie Talkie.
I never imagined I would meet so many lovely volunteers and NHS staff and build new friendships from it.
I never imagined a lady would tell me that I had become her saviour - simply by acknowledging her anxiety and doing my best to make the vaccination experience a safe one for her.
I never imagined I would clean so many chairs.
I never imagined I would be having so much fun on a Friday Night in a church.
I never imagined I would be so happy to see a familiar GG face.
I never imagined I would see so many different types of ears.
I never imagined it would take only 2 people to put up a marquee.... (it didn't!).
I now have a new word for naff biscuits.
I am now cautious to receive any medical treatment after 6pm if it requires my temperature to be taken.
I never realised that you can still easily smile at people through a mask and get a lovely smile back.
I am glad to be able to help. It feels good.
