Cuttle confusion

Saturday 10th January

Written by Bournemouth runner

Four Goodgymmers, Daryl, Roger, Lea and Keith joined six Bournemouth Ploggers for our first litterpick of 2026. Festive season over… litterpick season on! Plenty to find on the beach and around the chine. Lots of cuttlefish bones, causing confusion… “oh right: that’s not litter, oh but that white bit there is!” And as to meeting point: a bit more confusion, top/bottom of the steps?! We all found each other in the end and then spread out again to pick up LITTER! Lea was nurdling on the beach; Nick was scouring the parking area, Angie and Chris were promenading, Keith and Daryl found a bag full of clothes, not wearable anymore. But Roger, Katherine and Gemma won “the weirdest find” award x2 even. A punchbag hung up out of view in the trees. The other find: well, something to inform the police about… Anyway, good job done by everyone with lots of litter picked up and binned. With the cuttle confusion there are probably (read: most likely) quite a few bits of cuttlefish bones in the bin. Thanks a bunch, everyone.

It was great to meet up with four Goodgymers after the festive season..It was nice to meet up with Loren for the first time she had just moved to Bournemouth from London. We meet at the Auger Collective which is a new charitable Art Gallery previously we have rollered the walls .We where set the task of rolling the walls once more as there where some patches. So the four of us set to and soon had the walls done and the paint cleaned off the floor so it would be all nice for the grand opening on Thursday To which we have been invited to attend at 6pm . Please keep an eye on the web site as there will be a lot of tasks posted.

Two GoodGymers Harry and Sophie, attended today’s session, helping Westbourne rotary’s Santa’s grotto. (Congratulations Harry for completing your tenth good deed!) We got dressed up in festive attire to greet the children of Boscombe who were all very excited to see Santa! This was a very fun session, meeting approximately 17 families, which was classed as a ‘Slow’ day! The rotary were very thankful for our support today!

Ho ho ho so slow

Monday 15th December 2025

Written by Bournemouth runner

Three Goodgymmers, Daryl, Keith and Lea, had another lovely time walking along Santa's sleigh. Well, the beginning was certainly lovely, but whether there were so many more children to talk to Santa or people coming out to greet Santa, it certainly wasn't the fastest route! But whether slow or fast: the shining eyes of all the kiddies makes it all worthwhile. And going by the weight of the buckets.... another successful night, for sure. And the weather gods were once again smiling down on us.

Pennies and pounding the streets

Thursday 11th December 2025

Written by Bournemouth runner

Another Santa night… two Goodgymmers, Keith and Lea, nicely lit up with bright lights, followed Santa’s Sleigh around Iford tonight. Buckets got filled with pennies and pounds, while our feet were pounding along the streets especially when Santa decided to speed up the sleigh on the return journey!
