The usual part of the weekend litterati were out keeping Lewisham litter free, Adi enjoyed the glorious sunrise on Saturday in Sydenham’s Mayow Park - although couldn’t help feeling that it calm before the storm, litter wise, as a Santa's grotto was being setup for later.
Paul was in Deptford’s Brookmill Park a day earlier in drizzle, where there seemed to be an abundance of abandoned coffee cups and energy drink cans. He was able to see a lot of wildlife as he picked and bagged the litter, after last week’s nest preparation by the herons, that seemed to have been disrupted by the return of one of last year’s brood. There was a young fox, plus lots of ducks and a kingfisher zooming past.

I visited Miss N for a bit of lunchtime gardening. I don't think I can claim victory on this one, as there is still some weeding left and I didn't get near the windows part of the task. However, I gave it a good go and Miss N was happy with the efforts I'd made to clear her patio garden a bit. And I can still tick off "do good, get fit", so maybe a partial victory!

The lovely Ms Y is 80 next week, and I didn’t want her to be on her own for much of the day. So we planned out a birthday tea for the afternoon. Her shop was similar to most weeks except for getting a Christmas tv guide.

They know me now at Mr J’s GP practice, the Kingfiaher, I can’t remember a week that I had collected or dropped off something for a couple of months. I share vegetarian and vegan recipes with one of the receptionists. Today’s trip there was to pick up a sample bottle of- no doubt to return next week.
On the way back I did the week’s shopping along Deptford High Street.
The second kingfisher was a real one wizzing up the Ravensbourne towards Lewisham.

In addition to my usual path clearing, Maria asked me to try to salvage some nice long brambles that she planned to strip down, soak in water and remove the thorns, and use for weaving bramble baskets! This makes sense given how tough they can be. It got a bit stabby but I managed to collect a good pile before heading back to work.

Mr T needed help with returning a parcel so I made a quick trip from his home to the nearest Post Office, then back again to give him the receipt. Now he's happy that his broadband equipment will get back to the supplier in time for him to get his refund before Christmas.
