3 Goodgymers came out to help Nine Red CiC... load some tables and chairs and a new marquee/gazebo into the back of a truck. This was all for a Community event they are taking part in this weekend. There were quite a few heavy boxes which gave us all a good upper body work out. Great effort everyone, well done 👏

6 Luton Goodgymers joined the FoLP and ABCD-IN-LUTON for this months community litterpick.
We started by welcoming our first timer Susannah who was glad to finally come out with us after signing up a little while ago.
As the temperature was beginning to climb Kevin from ABCD-IN-LUTON reminded everyone to stay hydrated and he'd generously brought some bottles of water 💧 💧 💧 so everyone could take one on their way round the park.
It was quite a leisurely walk around the park, past the site of the new Luton Henge project and along the river Lea. We gathered around 15 bags of rubbish 🗑 and the park looked a lot tidier after we'd all finished.
David occupied his regular spot dangling like Spiderman over the river, fishing out all sorts of goodies only this time he had to fish out something a little more personal to himself as his phone dropped out of his pocket into the juice. He assured me it was ok 👍🏻 📱 .
All in all it was a good task and we look forward to returning next month.
Great job, well done 👏

4 of Luton Goodgyms finest came together on a rather warm Sunday morning to help Debra from 9Red CiC reorganise one of her storage sites. The garage was a real Aladdin's cave of costumes, cookware, projectors, gardening equipment, children's arts and craft materials and there was even a 3D printer. We arrived to see what looked like a shut the door and worry about it later scenario (much like if my wife asks me to put the clean towels away at home). But Luton Goodgym soon got to grips with the erratic stacking of boxes and phenomenal balancing acts that were going on in the lock up and after pulling 99% of the contents out it was all put back in neatly, everything had its own space and it was all left very accessible.
There was also a chance for Laura to spread her wings and live life as a butterfly 🦋 for a short time.
Debra was extremely grateful and I'm sure we'll be working with her again soon.
Great effort team, 👌 what a really great task.

It was a great pleasure to be part of this program today, indeed I made a good decision joining Goodgym!
Well I guess it would be nice.... to do another litterpick at Leagrave Park. This month along with helping the FoLP with their monthly litterpick, this task was also helping Kevin from ABCD-IN-LUTON complete another leg of his Great British Spring Clean challenge, where he is working with lots of different community groups to help get Luton Tidy and Keep Britian Tidy as part of a national initiative that he has spearheaded locally for the last few years. 6 Luton Goodgymers joined some local residents to see what they could find on the walk around the park today. A purse, an iPhone, a rather scary knife (which was dealt with appropriately) a sign for a car boot sale, the arm of a sofa and a drone amongst other delights all added to a haul of roughly 20 bags of rubbish. The team had fun too some taking on the woodland, others enjoying a nice stroll in the sunshine and a couple opting to get the waders on and head into the river Lea. But before that river becomes an ocean I need to give a shout out to our GG first timer Osama Faith. I hope you enjoyed the task and we look forward to seeing you out with the team again soon. Another great effort today team 👏 Well done everyone.

A team from Goodgym Luton spent their Saturday morning supporting The Friends of Leagrave Park and ABCD-IN-LUTON with the regular monthly litterpick. There was quite a nice relaxed vibe as we all walked round gathering up plastic bottles, empty drinks cans and other bits of rubbish that had been discarded in the park. The highlight of the morning for a few of us was seeing the kingfisher that flashes by occasionally. 10 bags of rubbish collected today. Great effort team 👏 👍🏻
