This was our first evening visit to Waterloo Park for quite some time, to support the Friends of Waterloo Park with the gardens that they manage.
Jean and her team were there to greet us with all of the tools needed for the task.
That said task was to clear most of an overgrown flower bed, so that the local school can visit and plant sun flower seeds. We'll be sure to arrange a visit later in the year to see them.
After some lovely refreshments kindly provided by FoWP, we headed... to the pub for a social.

The Friends of Waterloo Park had called upon GoodGym Norwich to help transport about 80 bags of compost to the park from a nearby location.
A big welcome to Poppy who was doing her first good deed, and to Harriet who was doing her first in Norwich.
We didn't hold back and got stuck into the task, forming a conveyor belt of GoodGymers going and and down the road and park with wheelbarrows full of the odour filled bags of mushroom compost.
The Friends of Waterloo Park also provided plenty of their helpers to spread all of the mushroom goodness across their flower beds.
It was a wonderful team effort and we got the whole job done in less than an hour.

7 GoodGymers gave up their Saturday morning to help the volunteers at Waterloo Park clear out a flower bed.
Jason was doing his 1st good deed with us.
You can see from the before and after photos how much everyone done (and how tired they all looked at the end!).
We also saved several snails that had housed themselves amongst the plants we were digging up, these were re-homed to another bed in the park by Sheila and Margaret.
Some stayed for breakfast after all the had work at the Britannia Cafe within Waterloo Park.
Great effort everyone.
