We had a full team in force for the third and final stint of painting what felt like the 2nd longest wall in the world (after the Great Wall of China) haha.
A few more people used the paint rollers and we smashed out the remainder of the task.

If someone asked you "what would be the ideal task to do in the dark?" I bet your response wouldn't be "paint a wall black"...
... well us dogooders at GoodGym love a challenge so thats exactly what we did!
When we started this task a few weeks ago, it was 1 degrees and raining... not pleasant would be putting it mildly.
This time, we spent a lot more time painting rather than huddling around a little campfire (I think we all admitted to doing this last time!) and we made amazing progress.
We'll be visiting again on Monday evening to finish the job as Bingo has been delayed for a month.

9 GoodGymers braved the cold weather (and some rain) to help at St Alban Church Hall.
We've done a few visits over the last year or so and have really made a difference in helping them to make the Church and Church Hall more community friendly.
Tonight's task was to paint an outside breeze block wall black to give it a modern touch.
Luckily the vicar and his lovely wife and set up a little camp fire to give off some heat, which was perfectly positioned so I could stay close to it and oversee the task at the same time haha.
A job well done and we'll be back soon to finish the wall painting.
Well done to Alina for completing 10 good deeds.

That was definitely the coldest session we've had for a lonnngggg time! Having said that, it didn't stop 8 GoodGymers well prepared to complete an outdoor good deed.
We visited St Alban Church to give their outdoor furniture a coat of varnish so it survives the winter. There were 3 wooden picnic tables and a wooden boat for us to do.
It was a very efficient task, probably as it was too cold to hang about! Nonetheless, it didn't hinder plenty of puns with the word 'deck' in an Australian accent.

Tonight's task was a return to the lovely St Alban Church on Grove Walk.
On our last visit there we created a new flower bed. This time, we wanted to protect the plants from weeds so our job was to lay a protective mesh down and cover it with wood chippings. Once we completed that we did a bit of weeding.
A big welcome to James and Ralph for taking part in their first Group Run session.
There was talk that we hadn't done a fitness session in a while so I included a squat workout, a relay during weeding and then a wall sit to finish up with. I'm not going lie, it was satisfying putting you all through your paces.
Well done to everyone, you worked hard and Catherine and Sarah were very appreciative of your help.

There were 8 of us at this week's Group Run.
Congratulations to Andrea on completing her 10th good deed! I had forgotten this until today so apologies for not mentioning it last night.
We only had just over 1km to run each way tonight, so a nice short one. It felt like old times with randomers trying to join in with our warm-up.
We arrived at St Alban Church and the lovely Catherine and her team greeted us with plants, tools plus cakes and water... what a way to lure us in to returning on a regular basis ;-)
The task in hand was to weed a flower bed then plant some wonderful looking new plants and shrubs. As with anything in life, nothing is that straight forward and we had to shovel, fork, lift, cry (not really) to remove some large bricks, concrete and pottery to get through the ground, which of course we did!
The before and after photos look great. Catherine and her team were so grateful and appreciative for our help, it makes it all worth while and reminds us how amazing GoodGym is.
Next week's session is on the Saturday as we visit Mousehold Heath.
