11 legends used their Monday night to get in a jog and a good weeding deed for TNG Youth Centre.
We kicked off the evening with names and the place we’d love to wake up in. Some spectacular choices ranging from Patagonia to Japan to Antarctica.
After a quick warm up we headed to Sydenham. This was a DIY session with nothing but us, our gloves and the weeds.
Some nasty brambles were no match for Molly, and Adam cleverly suggested a spot in the bushes across the road for our piles of vegetation 👌
Once we'd scraped, yanked and whispered (yup) all the weeds out, we headed round the corner to the (apparently) famous 'SNUFFLE' - a wine bar, cafe and dog groomers/spa, "probably for tax reasons", said Emma.
We headed back via a different route. We had a wallsit competition. Cat won! 🏆
And finally we did some stretches and a few of us had a beverage. NICE.

My first goodgym task in a while was perfect.
Mark and Cat already had a very productive morning setting up the Maple Road Fair AND running the Crystal Palace park run when I met them at the task! Which put me to shame, having had a lie in and sauntered over to Alexandra Rec for the task.
Emma (also a park runner) and Linda both joined too.
Our task was to clear away the grass/weeds around some saplings, and lay mulch down. This is so the saplings can have easier access to the nutrients in the soil instead of that pesky grass and weeds.
Mark, Cat and I then went to check out some graffiti artwork in Penge! Don’t know how those two did it after being up tasking and running since 7!
Perfect task made better by the sun!

Last night 5 massive legends turned out for a 6k run and a good deed supporting Richard (our pal from Ignition Brewery) who’s planting 100 trees outside Haseltine Primary School. It’s a bit of a grey area (visually) so some greenery will be a welcome addition!
We met at the Bridge House, shared our fave Disney films and did a quick warm up on the way to our task in Lower Sydenham.
When we arrived, Richard had marked out a square of grass. Our job was to dig in and turn it over and then empty some bags of manure and used coffee grounds to add some goodness into the soil.
Apart from accidentally ending up on little islands of un-turned soil and getting somewhat muddy trainers, it all went pretty smoothly…
It turned out to be a really decent whole body workout and coupled with the nearly 6km we clocked up, a solid evening’s work!
Nice one gang 🔥
Richard is back for a big planting session on Saturday - click here if you’re able to join!

8 wonderful GoodGymmers hit the streets of Bromley this evening to help out the St Christopher’s Hospice and one of their (very high quality) charity shops on Crystal Palace Triangle.
We met at the Bridge House as per, discussed our favourite hills (Harry and Blue Peter’s Katy did not make an appearance 🥲), welcomed brand-new-to-GG-Bromley Emma ✨ and then did a quick warm up before making the long ascent up Crystal Palace Park Road.
Everyone smashed it (hopefully with the help of Slightly Smaller Steps, Knees (up), Arms (swingin’) and a Balloon keeping them upright - SSSKAB for short). We managed to squeeze in a few squats at some traffic lights and then we met Hannah on our way too!
Teresa greeted us and had a few jobs for us:
💨 Emma jumped straight into steaming clothes. Hannah tag teamed in a little later.
🧹Alex was whizzing round the shop hoovering every nook and cranny.
👗 Clare Rosie and Cat started out picking out and swapping the fanciest clothes in the prime spots around the shop before joining…
👘 Nick and I, who were putting clothes on hangers.
And if all that wasn’t enough, we also managed a bit of tagging and some price reductions! 🤑
St Christopher’s relies heavily on the money it generates from its charity shops so it was great to be able to help out with a nice variety of jobs and to support the hospice in its work with the community.
ACE WORK EVERYONE.
We’ll be back next Monday with a brand new task - Betts Park!
