A team of seven enthusiastic GoodGymmers came together to lend a helping hand at the Age UK Superstore this week. The group was tasked with sorting through a large collection of CDs, DVDs, and books, helping to categorize them and prepare them for sale.
Mel, Lynn, Nick, and Stu focused on organizing and categorizing CDs and DVDs, while Dawn and Lindsay took charge of sorting books particularly in the history and cooking sections. Once sorted, items were neatly stacked to a 1 meter high shelf length, ready for display and pricing.
The task was a refreshing change from the usual clothes sorting, and everyone enjoyed the variety. There was a strong sense of achievement as the team reached their 1-meter stacking goal, demonstrating teamwork and efficiency.
A special shoutout to Stu, who is running the Shakespeare Half Marathon this weekend, best of luck! It was inspiring to hear about his training for an upcoming 24 hour event, walking an impressive 20 to 40 miles per week. And kudos to Mel, who has now completed five months of doing a 5K every single day!
A fantastic effort all around weldone team!

The famous five Goodgymers met at Age UK Leicester to help sort, size and price clothes. Lynn and Mel were tasked with scanning and sorting books to see if they had been sold online , thus raising funds for AGE UK . Nick, Jim and Lindsay sorted and priced items ready for the sale. Jim enjoyed modelling some of the latest jackets on offer . Lindsay made hot drinks and Nick provided some yummy cookies for the tea break. Well done everyone and thanks for the treats Nick .

8 Super Goodgymmers helped sort, label, tag and hang at Age UK Superstore today, a fairly new charity shop in Leicester that we have supported since their opening.
Today we had not 1 but 2 new members, great to meet you both and I’m pleased you enjoyed today’s task. Very quickly everyone worked through the bags filling the rails in no time. Dave and Mel sorted a huge pile of books, amazing how more hands make for a lighter load.
Dawn had been busy knitting bobble hats for the Innocent smoothie bottles, they were so creative the watermelon themed hat was a fave, they were all amazing.
Good luck to those of you running Kibworth League race this Sunday and Weldone to Dave running to today’s task, Dawn walking and Mel reaching 105 days of 5km every day! Amazing!
Weldone everyone, Age UK praised your efforts as always appreciated.

10 amazing Goodgymers helped at Age UK Leicester by sorting, sizing, tagging and hanging bags of donated clothes to be ready for the shop floor. Everyone got stuck in with a few pro’s among the group who are very familiar with the task, especially Lindsay, Jimmy and Stu who visited last week!
Our help was much appreciated by the Staff at Age UK especially Abby who kept us stocked up with clothes to sort, we filled 4 rails today! They were also very grateful for the donations Sarah, Dawn and Lynn brought along after their New Year sorting.
Great to see Samir has a new bike, Jimmy’s first question was his concern about its safety (reminding me of the times Jimmy used to lock my bike with his beeping alarm). I did wish that Stu had bought a new jacket, it really suited him!
Shout out to Lindsay and Lynn who want to take up the task force training to keep Leicester going from strength to strength with more the merrier Task force members.
Fantastic efforts everyone and great to see so many familiar faces keep up the great work and have a lovely weekend.

3 Goodgymers met at 10.30 for our volunteering role at the Age Uk warehouse.
We were greeted by Abby, who was really grateful for the help, as they've been inundated with donations. Lindsay and Jimmy had been before, so we're able to start immediately with tagging, pricing, and hanging the garments on the rail with the correct size cube.
Stu quickly picked up what to do and worked in tandem with Lindsay. Before we knew it, we'd filled the rail with 99p clothes, ready for the shop floor.
