This weeks group run/walk/cycle to the Luton team to 61FC, to do a bit more painting to help them prepare for the new season which is just around the corner. After meeting in the town centre and having a brief introduction session as we had Pashew with us for the first time, the 11 strong team headed off to the task. On arrival Richard from 61FC was waiting with Rollers and brushes and several pots of paint ๐จ. So we split into 2 groups and painted the outside of the clubhouse and some more of the posts around the pitch. It was good fun and definitely gave us all a good arm workout. The task was also Omar 's 100th task. So we look forward to seeing him in his ๐ชฝ t-shirt very soon. After some quick refreshments and agreeing to come back and finish the posts in a few weeks time, we headed back to town centre. This week we also have another milestone in the group, so we decided to tag a mini social on the back of the task to celebrate ๐พ our very own David who's birthday it is (age reveal in the pics). This is the perfect opportunity to shout out the man who brought Goodgym to Luton and has truly helped us go from strength to strength ๐ช A real leader. Congratulations to Omar, Pashew and David and awesome job to all that attended. Well done team ๐ ๐๐ป ๐ ๐

For this weeks group ๐โโ๏ธ ๐โโ๏ธ run, ๐ถโโ๏ธ ๐ถโโ๏ธ walk, ๐ฒ cycle the team headed over to 61fc to start (what now seems to be an annual task) painting the posts on the barrier around the football pitch so they look nice for the coming season. The team were 9 strong tonight and we welcomed Dinner Dee on her first group run after joining us for several other tasks, it was good to get her out and about with the team and we hope she'll join us again. Richard at the club was happy with what we got done and we've agreed to go back in a few weeks and get some more done. Great effort tonight everyone.

This week we ran 2.5 km to the 61 Football Club where they're busy doing off-season maintenance to the club house. Our task for the evening was a deep clean of the muddy changing rooms after a winter of soggy players bringing the pitch inside with them!
We gave the floors a really thorough scrub and mop-up to get the mud out and gave the walls a good wipe down too, leaving it all looking much smarter by the time we called it a day and enjoyed some biscuits and a cup of strong orange squash to fuel our return run back into town.

Six members ran across town to the 61 Football Club where the clubhouse needed a good dusting, scrub down and polishing.
Grateful for an indoor task on a clear and frosty evening we set straight to work and got everything shiny and spotless before celebrating Gill reaching 400 good deeds with fun size chocolates to refuel before heading back out into the cold to run into town and complete our session for the evening.

It was a return to the 61 Football club this week for a second go at a deep clean of the clubhouse and changing rooms.
A 2.6km chilly run out from the town centre to the club got us warmed up and we were glad to have an indoor task for a frosty evening!
With much of the worst of the mud and grub cleaned up last time, we made quick progress this time, extending our efforts to more of the clubhouse and getting things clean.
Skirting boards were scrubbed, grout was bleached, and ground-in muddy residues were mopped away. The clubhouse is looking much more pleasant and ready for the Christmas party season!
Heading back into town we took the opportunity to do lamp-post sprint intervals to really get the legs moving and build some speed up!

A team of five came together for a 5km round trip to the 61 Football Club where the changing rooms needed a good scrub down as they'd got pretty muddy!
Hot soapy water, brooms, mops and scrubbers were all employed to restore some cleanliness to the grubby changing rooms and shower. Working against the clock and with a smaller team than normal we did our best to tackle the grime. We definitely got the worst of it off but there's certainly room for another go at it to get the clubhouse in a truly clean state, we'll come back in a couple of weeks to finish the task properly.
Club manager Richard treated us with chocolate biscuits and squash before our return journey into town, the club are always very hospitable and thankful for our efforts!
