A very windy beach clean! Lots of chasing rubbish. Wilson was very happy finding a toy chicken foot. Ellie made after tail walking in havant. Judy nearly got hit in the face by some soggy trunks. Lots of small bits of plastic and sweet wrappers.

Thanks to Thomas and Isaac for the prize find of a boot (& some earrings), enabling me to think of a decent report pun!
As always, we were warmly welcomed by Jane at BPA who gave me the dates for 2023 as well... I love the organisation!
We are definitely finding less litter every time we go along which is a great sign. We did fill a few bags with the usual suspects of sweet (or candy for our US friends) wrappers and crisp packets, a few plastic bottles and cans. Today we found 3 dog balls and Aoife located the party corner where she picked up lots of glass.
After an hour or so it was time to head off in our different directions and enjoy a bit more of the morning sunshine.
Happy Saturday everyone!

Thomas Cammack completed 5 good deeds with GoodGym.
Thomas is a now a pretty committed GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the fifth time

Some very intrepid GoodGymmers took to the streets of Fratton to support the Big Local light festival.
Vicki and Lucy were on the door of Victory Business Centre guiding people to the business yard where Harry, Wilson, Sinead, Isaac and Thomas were finding and delivering lanterns ready for the parade. The lantern allocation was quite stressful but team work made the dream work and everyone had a lantern in time for the start of the parade. Wilson and Sinead had the honour of carrying the Fratton Fox, whilst Isaac and Thomas had the whale and Harry got to carry a very large owl! Vicki, Lucy and Jen carried some of the GoodGym lanterns and were tasked with ensuring participants stayed on the pavement.
At the end of the parade we helped retrieve lights and sticks from lanterns ready for reuse next year before exploring some of the other exhibits at St Mary's Church.
Thanks everyone for you help in the madness, FBL is really grateful to of you!

Despite the dull weather, we still turned out to clean the shore line along with the team from City of Sanctuary.
We didn't find too many big recyclables but there were quite a few smaller bits so still plenty to log on the Jetsam app.
Scott made the most of his wellies and pulled a flipper, a cone and something shaped like a toilet seat out of the mud!
We found pants, a sock and part of a sea shoe as well as a huge piece of rope.
We filled 3 bin bags in around 75 minutes, not bad at all. It's good to see that the area is looking cleaner than it used to. Great work everyone!

Thank you to Barrett, Kyson, Thomas & Isaac who joined us from the USA during their year in the UK. Sinead ran the Great Salterns Parkrun before the litter pick and Aoife volunteered as a marshall.
So once the Parkrunners had finished, we walked the perimeter of Great Salterns and managed to collect bulging bags of litter. (And met some gorgeous doggies along the way!)

Lovely to meet Paul, Berrett and Kyson in their first Goodgym Mission. Please to see Amy, Isaac and Thomas returning for their second community mission.
Abby really stretched herself to get litter. she also held the Fort until I showed up... much appreciated.
Lots of litter collected in the woodlands. Weirdest finds: hula hoop, scooter, umbrella and a headless garden ornament.
