It was fab to welcome Leszek to his first task in Portsmouth this evening - thanks for coming to visit!

The evening started with adding lights and sticks to the lanterns that people had made at various community events over the past few weeks. The next task was reuniting lanterns with their owners ahead of the parade.

Marshalling this year was a bit of an easier as the partial road closure magically expanded in to a full road closure.

Sinéad entertained the crowds with her light up poi (apologies for the spelling, Sinead!) whilst the rest of us carried the "special" lanterns that had been donated.

After spending a bit of time stripping lanterns of their lights and sticks ready to be reused again next year, we all headed off for some much needed down-time.

Give GoodGymers the basic materials and they'll create something beautiful!

The task was set by Hive, asking for Christmas table or wall decorations for Portsmouth care homes.

We made centrepieces from nature's bounty, tealight holders that will send out Xmas colours and bunting to string across the dining rooms.

It was great to welcome Sadie to her first GG activity (good luck in the Southampton 10K, Sadie!) And lovely to have the growing GGers, Alice & Jack, to keep us entertained with their chatter!

And well done, you crafty GGers!

The arrival of the Pantry's Rapid Racking system as well as an IKEA delivery today meant that assembling furniture took precedence over the painting we were expecting.

We also had a bit of an Upstairs / Downstairs system going on, with Katie and Harry running point in the IKEA assembly, whilst Katie, Dave and Jen were up in the offices with the Racking.

Mallets, screwdrivers, allen keys and some unusual tubing were wielded and in just over an hour we'd assembled four storage racks, a Kallax unit and two sofas. Nice effort, everyone!
