Thanks to Jen for realising that I'd inadvertently created a run report title in my safety briefing.
13 hardy GoodGymers braved the weather (& the mad Pompey traffic issues) and got out in the cold for icy runs, walks and jogs. I would guess that most of us might have decided to do it another day if it wasn't for Monday Motivation.
Kudos to Judy who logged her kms round Gatwick. She might be going on holiday but she's still contributing to the challenge!
Well done everyone, next week it's a fully virtual Monday Motivation but feel free to use the social chat to find a buddy!

We spent a rather soggy morning cheering on GoodGymers and other running community chums at the 7 Mile point of the Great South Run. We were close enough to enjoy some epic tunes from the "Feel Good" music truck, which was also very on-brand with our GoodGym gear!
Extra kudos to Dave for chasing down Super-Speedy Andy at Mile 9 for an action shot, and JB for the unexpected and delicious strudel!

Portsmouth had the privilege hosting this year's UK pride event. GG team helped marshall the parade. Whilst Harry carried a huge trans flag. Whilst pride is a celebration, CP the event organisers made an incredible speech to remind us all the importance of the protest and standing as part of or allies of the LGBTQ+ community. GG Portsmouth is full of an incredible bunch of diverse lovely people.

We had all GoodGym modes of travel in action with a walking group, running group and cycling group heading to Admiral Jellicoe House for our task this evening.
Continuing our work from a weekend visit earlier in the month, we had even more bright colours to help liven up the dementia garden for residents.
Emmanuel received an introduction to Priscilla, Queen of the Desert from Jen and Harry, as well as career and financial advice from our very own Richard and Judy!
Dave was distracted by a local cricket match taking place on the field behind the garden, luckily Val got him back on track by handing over the GG Red paint brush.
In just under an hour we covered 11 fence panels. Top prize goes to Andy for his precision work and perfect timing! Well done, everyone, what a wonderful, colourful evening!

What started out as a slightly sketchy task - "We need to meet a man called Alan outside The Bridge Centre to buy some bark" evolved into a very pleasant evening.
Our rendezvous was a success, and after hulking bags of woodchip through the shopping centre, we filled in all of the gaps in the new planters to reduce the number of weeds coming through. Garden Goddess Judy noticed the plants were in need of a drink, so with a bit of help from the Security Team, we started a chain of bucket-filling and watering.
As Vicki beautifully put it, it was like we were putting the plants to bed for the evening. So cute!
With a bit of time to spare, we headed over to Spoons for a drink and a catch-up. I feel more tasks should have a pub stop!
