Nineteen nimble goodgym runners got ‘stuck in the mud’ at Northway gardens. The walking group of Fiona and Fay set off while the runners gathered outside the Phoenix and gently warmed up. We had a count out and a brief chat about our favourite, recently seen films, and then set off on the 2km run to Northway gardens. ( Rocket man, Aladdin and John Wick recommended) We stopped every so often to do paired exercises. Northway Gardens follows Mutton Brook and consists of three areas of gardens. The gardens have tennis courts, woodland ,open grass, formal gardens and a cafe. Well worth a visit! We met Brain, the community organiser, who explained that they had recently taken over more of the gardens from the council. We split into two groups one moving and disposing of cut branches and the other preparing a flower bed with compost and wood chip. When done we started our run back through the gardens to a field where we gathered for a game of Stuck in the mud. (also known as sticky witch or if you are french 'chased by the wolf'! thanks Marie ) Once caught you could only be released by doing five squats and five press ups. We had a gentle run back and finished with some stretches and some yogic breathing.

Thanks for coming and doing some good ..hope you had fun too!
