Sunsetting Seasiders

Wednesday 2nd April

Written by Dave M

5 Goodgymmers headed along to the western shoreline to pick away at what the tide had dragged in.

Plenty of cans and waterbottles. Plastic and paper. And of course, a sock!

Apart from the wind trying to remove the bags from our hands we enjoyed our time in the setting sun.

Good luck to Andy, Abby & Katie on your various runs around the world this weekend!!

Pick 'N' Pooch

Tuesday 1st April

Written by Dave M

Tracey and I had a wander along the lane to try and clear a bit of the rubbish left strewn about.

2 bags later and it was slightly mission accomplished!

After many many shouts of "Ollie No" & "Ollie Stop", he was very happy to find an old tennis ball to keep him better behaved!

5 Goodgymers picked up the tiny pieces of plastic and wrappers from around the Gibson Centre making the place look spick and span and much safer for the children that use the space.

Sunday roasting! ☀️😎

Sunday 30th March

Written by Yvonne Hawley

The clocks ⏰ sprung forward last night and we have lighter nights to look forward to! 😊 A lovely lazy 😴 Sunday afternoon litter pick 🚯 along the beach 🌊 was perfectly timed for what must be the hottest day of the year so far. ☀️😎 3 GGers collected 2 bags of rubbish, including random items of 2 scarves and and a hot water bottle! We enjoyed a well earned cold drink afterwards and were already planning a return visit. It’s a lovely location. we can even triple duty with donations for Ukraine and feeding the swans. Watch this space for another visit.

Back to our Roots

Saturday 29th March

Written by Jen Stoneham

Our sunny Saturday pick got off to slightly pongy start, with the discovery of a less-than-fresh pair of pants in a coffee cup. Seems like someone certainly had a wild Friday night!

We met a very sweet dog and his friendly owners, who were quite surprised that people pick up litter voluntarily. Fortunately, there wasn't much litter - unlike when we visited during Covid.

A plant root that resembled a little man was probably our most thrilling find, but we left that where we found it.

It was certainly a lovely morning for a pick in a very pretty place - try saying that five times fast!

We all LOVE ❤️ a litter-pick!

Friday 28th March

Written by Judy Knapp

Heart-shaped shells; painted pebbles dedicated to babies and grandads; metal-detecting enthusiasts; and litter-picking fans......

There was a lot of love at the Hot Walls this evening, and we also had a laugh and a catch-up in the pub as well.

What's not to love?!
